Alongside the face painting we also offer a body painting service to our clients. Body painting is a great way to enhance any event or product launch. What better way to grab attention than to hire professional body painters to paint models? In the past clients have hired body painted models to wait their event, or to usher guests in, or just to simply attend a party - all of which helps to create a sense of fun or other particular atmosphere helping your party or event go with a swing!Body painting is often considered to be one of the most ancient forms of human art. One of the original applications of body paint was as part of ritualistic ceremonies in tribal cultures. Some indigenous cultures, in particular those tribes native to Australia, New Zealand and sections of Africa, still use body paint in this way however the more common application of body painting in the UK is simply for fun!
Since the social revolution of the 1960s and subsequent liberalised attitude towards nudity there was a revival in body painting as an art form, for fun as well as for expression. Of course body painting doesn't necessarily mean the subject has to be naked. There have been several noteable pieces of body painting works presented in the media or in the art world where the models have been nude, and this has often been used to vreate commercial effect. Joanne Gair's 'Disappearing Model' is one of the most famous works, Gair showing how a person can be hidden against a backdrop by replicating the background pattern on the skin of the model. Having seen the marketing potential of body painting many commercial businesses have used it to promote products or alongside product launches.
